About Us
The inspiration for Pawskinz began with my dog, Lucy. As an active pair who loved exploring the great outdoors, our adventures often took a toll on Lucy’s paws. Chronic ripped pads and sore paws frequently forced us to take breaks from the activities we loved. Watching her struggle to walk made me determined to find an effective solution for paw protection.
I invested hundreds of dollars into various dog shoes, socks, and latex coverings, but I discovered that most protectors were not designed with canine paw ergonomics in mind. Many options were either as thin as a latex balloon or excessively bulky, making them uncomfortable for Lucy and difficult for me to apply. This specific challenge launched my journey to prototype Pawskinz.
My solution involved collaborating with a product developer and product designer from two of the world's leading athletic shoe brands here in the US. Together, we engineered Pawskinz: a first-of-its-kind, patented hybrid thermal technical paw protector. This innovation serves as a cross between dog socks and dog shoes, crafted from a flexible, stretchy, jelly-like material with a thickness that ranges from 1 to 5 1/2 mm varied throughout the thermal sock making it the first technical pawprotector. By providing your dog with an extra layer of skin, this design offers cushioned protection exactly where it is needed most. Key features include a built-in claw garage that accommodates front nails, while integrated inner ribbing ensures Pawskinz stay comfortably and securely in place.
