The inspiration for PawSkinz came from my dog, Lucy. We were an active pair who loved walking and the great outdoors, but our adventures often took a toll on Lucy’s paws. Chronic ripped and sore paw pads frequently forced us to take breaks from the outdoors. Watching her struggle to walk, I became determined to find an effective solution.

I spent a significant amount of money—hundreds of dollars—on various dog shoes, socks, and latex coverings. However, most of the protectors I found were simply not designed with the canine paw's ergonomics in mind. They were either too thin (like a latex balloon) or overly bulky. Lucy and I found them uncomfortable and difficult to apply. This challenge is what truly launched my prototyping journey with PawSkinz.

My solution began by collaborating with product developers from two of the world's largest athletic shoe brands. Together, we developed PawSkinz: a first-of-its-kind hybrid thermal paw protector. It's a cross between a sock and a soft shoe, made from a flexible, stretchy, jelly-like material, varied 1-4 mm of thickness throughout. Giving your dog extra layers of skin at the paw. This design provides your dog with cushioned, added protection exactly where it's needed. Key features include the built-in claw garage that allows room for your dog's front claws, while the inner ribbing helps keep PawSkinz comfortably and securely in place.
